What about banking bonuses then eh? With reports that Barclays and HSBC are about to reel off a ton of bumber bonus payments in line with their reportedly vast profits, you have to wonder which way public opinion will sway on this one.
Personally, I don't have a problem with hard working employees taking a well earned bonus. But even if Barclays & HSBC were'nt involved in the recent banking troubles like the other big banks - I still think they owe consumers a certain amount of respect - particularly as so many of us bank with them.
I wonder how many of their mortgage customers will be reposessed this year? Maybe they should cut back on the bonuses and help the more vulnerable instead?
